North Texas summers are brutal, with temperatures regularly exceeding 100°F and prolonged droughts. But that doesn't mean your landscape has to suffer. These heat-loving, drought-tolerant plants not only survive Texas summers — they thrive in them. All are available for delivery to Arlington, TX and the surrounding communities we serve today (Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Kennedale, Pantego, and Dalworthington Gardens), plus the I-20 corridor from Seagoville through Dallas and Lancaster, with plans to expand across the greater Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex as we grow.
Water restrictions are common in DFW during summer months. Drought-tolerant plants reduce your water bill, require less maintenance, and are better for the environment. Once established, these plants can survive on natural rainfall alone, making them perfect for sustainable North Texas landscapes. They also tend to be more resistant to pests and diseases.
Even drought-tolerant plants need regular watering during their first growing season. Water deeply once or twice a week to encourage deep root growth. After the first year, gradually reduce watering frequency. Apply 2–3 inches of mulch to retain soil moisture and regulate temperature. Avoid frequent, shallow watering which promotes weak, shallow roots.
