How to Plant Lantana 'New Gold'
Simple steps to get your Lantana 'New Gold' established in your DFW yard.
Choose the Right Location
Select a spot that gets full sun. Allow room for a mature height of 18-24". Plan for 18-24" spread.
Prepare the Soil
Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. In North Texas clay soils, amend with compost to improve drainage and root establishment. Break up any hard clay at the bottom of the hole.
Plant Properly
Remove from the container and gently loosen the roots. Place in the hole so the top of the root ball is level with or slightly above the surrounding soil. Backfill with amended soil and tamp gently to remove air pockets.
Water & Mulch
Water thoroughly after planting. Apply 2–3 inches of mulch to retain moisture. Water weekly during the first growing season to help roots establish.
